I met Allison's mom, Dawn, through horses last year. Dawn has two daughters, one who loves horses and one who loves gymnastics. When I was at their home, Dawn mentioned that it is full of horse artwork and lacks any representation of gymnastics. I immediately offered to have them over for a studio session because one, gymnasts are amazing, and two, I was excited to have a session in the studio!
Allison's gymnastics session was the VERY FIRST session I held in the studio. The studio actually wasn't even fully ready, so we worked around the golf putting green (long story) and all of my props that had been dropped randomly around the room. Allison brought her beam and pulled out some awesome skills for me to capture. You'll notice in the BTS picture that her beam is actually purple, so I got to test my skills and change the color of her beam. Surprisingly, it was way simpler than I expected (after I remembered how to best change colors), and it was my favorite part of the editing process.
At the end of her session, I asked if we could add some silver and blue foil to match her leo. I haven't worked with foil in three or four years, but when moving into the studio, I found a pack of 300+ squares. It's always a learning curve getting it to stick, but once it was on we loved it! It added a fun element to her session, and we had so much fun. Her full gallery ended up having 66 images... my biggest weakness is overdelivering!
